I have been a member of the two main Professional Organizations related to 911 for many years. NENA (National Emergency Number Association) and APCO (Association of Public Safety Communications Officials) having served in most of the elected offices of Wisconsin NENA, Chairing an annual conference for several years and was a Co-Chair of a 13 State Regional Conference for Wisconsin APCO in 2009. I have been active and vocal on legislative issues for 911 as well as Law Enforcement. Two legislative efforts of note were the Wireless E911 and Drivers License Photo bills.
These activities and others provided opportunity to be known and recognized by various organizations and it was not uncommon to be invited to participate on committee’s or speak to organizations on various topics.
