The concept of networking has long been a part of who I am, even before it became a buzz word and I recognized that what I did is what people were talking about.
One day a consultant friend of mine asked me to participate in a conference call as an observer and to share my perspective of the discussion because I had experience in the industry this group was targeting. As my friend introduced me to the participants, one person piped up and asked; “Just what does Al do?” and my friend’s response was; “He collects people!”
While, collecting people is not my focus, it is certainly something that I do to help accomplish my desired outcomes. My friends comment made me feel good and I realize networking is something not everyone understands.
