While attending a State CIB (Crime Information Bureau) conference one year, I was introduced to a state employee who was sometimes referred to as “The Money Lady”. We spent some time discussing different issues and developed a professional relationship and used each other as resources from time to time. One day she called me and asked if I would join the State TRCC (Traffic Records Coordinating Committee). I told her I would present it to my boss for consideration. My boss did not see any value in it or how it was related to the business of 911 and said; NO! My friend, the money lady apparently was not satisfied with that answer and not long after, my boss received a formal let from the Major of the State Patrol requesting my participation on the TRCC. My Boss changed her mind and for a few years, I was part of the decision making process that guides DOT grant dollars for automating Traffic Records in the state. There were numerous good connections made through this invitation that benefited the County as well as other agencies. Now retired, I still keep in touch with "The Money Lady!"
